SP Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav dead, read details

An era in Uttar Pradesh politics has come to an end with the death of Samajwadi Party (SP) founder and supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav after prolonged illness. He was admitted at Medanta hospital in Gurugram on Monday. He was 82.

Since past few days, the condition of Singh remained “quite critical” and and he was on life-saving drugs. All big political leaders had been visiting him at the hospital and took stock of his health condition. The news of his death was shared by his son and party president Akhilesh Yadav on party’s official Twitter handle, “Mere adarniya pitaji aur sabke netaji nahi rahe – Akhilesh Yadav,”.

Condolences are pouring in on social media platforms. Earlier, it was announced that his mortal remains would be kept at Lucknow on Monday today for the party members and public to pay their last respects. The last rights would take place on Tuesday (tomorrow) at Sefai around 11am. It was finally decided that his mortal would be taken directly to Sefai and consigned to flames there. However, final confirmation regarding time is yet to come.
