Missing-links in Ankita’s postmortem report, family refuses to perform last rites. Is Uttarakhand police trying to cover-up? Why?

Is the Uttarakhand police trying to hide something? Well, can’t help but ask this question as fresh developments raises many questions and try to link the missing links. Though, the same police had extended full cooperation to the family in finding Ankita Bhandari, and also preparing a case against the accused – Resort owner Pulkit Arya, manager of the resort, Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta.

In the telephonic between the Director General of Police (DGP), Uttarakhand, Ashok Kumar, and Ankita’s father, the top cop is heard assuring the man of constituting a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The top also assures that he would ensure that the Arya and his aids would be hanged. The father tells the top cop that the family is grateful to the administration for all the cooperation.

After all this why then the Uttarakhand police in the draft postmortem report says, Ankita was pushed into the canal and died due to downing? Why then police cites the WhatsApp conversations between Ankita and her friend where she maintains the same thing that Pulkit Arya has been forcing her to have physical relationship with guests.

The family members of Ankita has refused to perform the last rites unless they get the postmortem report.

Incidentally, there was a girl working with the resort few years back who had gone missing and till date not found. What did the Uttarakhand administration do then? It it what the administration is trying to shy away from or is it just because this incident has taken place before the 2024 general elections?

Ankita Bhandari murder raises many questions. Expelling from party or demolition of resort may satisfy the anger the anger but cannot bring back the poor girl. Big questions. Why should cases like Ankita Bhandari happen? Where is an end to it? Are the big questions.

A 19-year old girl goes missing on September 18, 2022. After two-days her body fished out of a lake in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand on September 22. Political corridors become active as the main accused Pulkit Arya is the son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members – Vinod Arya and his brother Ankit Arya from the party’s primary membership. Muck and filth exposed. The question is why political fraternity or the politically connected people feel that they would get away with everything they do having the political power?

Coming straight away to the story, I am referring to the Ankita Bhandari murder case in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. Daughter of Veerendra Singh Bhandari, joined the resort as a receptionist less than a month back. The poor girl got killed even before she could enjoy her first salary and all this because she tried to protect her dignity.

Pulkit Arya tried to portray the entire incident as an accident and wash his hands off. He had lodged a complain of Ankita going missing. The prima facie investigation revealed that Pulkit used to force Ankita to make sexual relations with the guests. Verbal scuffle surfaced after she refused. According to police, Pulkit, along with two of his employees – resort manager Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta took her to Rishikesh on some pretext and had pushed Ankita on their way back.

Jumpig into action, the Uttarakhand administration demolished Arya’s resort in Rishikesh which had been built illegally on Friday night. The BJP has expelled Pulkit Arya’s father Vinod Arya and his brother Ankit Arya from the party’s primary membership.

However, the entire incident has raised a question on the safety and security of females working as staffers at such guest houses, and resorts.

Uttarakhand police have also arrested resort manager Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta apart from Pulkit Arya.
