Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta claims responcibity for MCD defeat, resigns

Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta has tendered his resignation taking responsibility for poor performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections. Gupta sent his resignation to JP Nadda, BJP national president which has been accepted as per the party sources.

“Following the directions of the BJP national president J P Nadda, we accept the resignation of Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta. Till further notice Virender Sachdeva, Delhi state vice-president is appointed as president. This will come into force with immediate effect,” said Arun Singh, BJP national general secretary.

Vice-president Virendra Sachdeva has been appointed as the president in-charge till further notice.

The BJP ruled the MCD for the last 15 years but the party lost its reign to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with a thin margin of 30 seats. The BJP won 104 out of 250 seats against the AAP’s 134. The BJP had won 181 seats last time.

Expose soon on Kejriwal’s obligations to offer VIP treatment to Satyendra Jain, says BJP

The viral video showing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister Satyandra Jain getting massage from a man inside his cell in Tihar Jail has put the party in serious trouble. Not only the man and the minister have violated the Jail rules but the man giving Jain massage is an alleged rapist serving punishment under POCSO Act. This means the AAP which jumped into the rescue of Jain immediately after the video surfaced stating it as a ‘anti propaganda’ by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and claimed that the minister was advised to take massage from doctor and the man giving him massage was a physiotherapist. This raised immense uproar as BJP held a press conference and proved that the man in the video giving Jain massage was not a “physiotherapist” but a ‘rapist’.

The AAP is in Catch 22 situation over the controversial viral video showing Satyendra Jain getting massage from a POCSO accused.

Earlier, manish Sisodia, deputy chief minister of Delhi and close confidant of AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal in the press conference said come what may, the party will not expel Jain. When asked about the allegations hurled at him, Sisodia said they don’t buy the allegations and one must not expect AAP would take action on whatever is being said… These were the defiant words of Sisodia.

However, the AAP members have ducked ever since the news of “physiotherapist’ being a rapist has come into glare. Kejriwal, too is silent and has been evading the topic by making rhetoric on morals and ethics. Pity! The party that came to power in Delhi on making tall convictions from stopping corruption to punishing the corrupt and drawing a sorry face is talking of ethics and morals.

BJP said that more press conferences will follow in the coming days that would expose the lies of AAP and also what are the obligations of Kejriwal to provide VIP treatment to Satyendra Jain.

MCD Polls 2022: BJP releases its manifesto, highlights ‘Jahan Jhuggi wahan makaan’ scheme

Finally, the elections for Delhi Municipal Corporations (MCD) have been announced. The dates were announced by State Election Commissioner Vijay Dev announced the dates on Friday. MCD elections will take place on December 4, 2022 and the counting of votes will commence on December 7, 2022. With the announcement of the dates, political parties – Bharatiya Jananta Party (BJP), Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have fastened their seat-belts to find ways to impress and woo the voters. The real fight is between BJP and AAP. BJP which is already in power in the civic body in the state says people will not vote for AAP as they are in no mood to take the false convictions by AAP. BJP has slammed the AAP over playing a dirty political game over liquor politics. One of major attraction of the BJP’s manifesto in the MCD polls is the ‘Jahan Jhuggi wahan Makaan Scheme’, permanent houses for the slum dwellers.

On Friday, today, BJP Delhi chief Adesh Gupta and the party MP Manoj Tiwari released the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Delhi civic polls. The BJP national president JP Nadda Earlier on Wednesday chaired a Delhi BJP core group meeting at his residence in the national capital over the elections.

Permanent ‘pucca’ houses to slum dwellers: BJP released its ‘Vachan Patra’ or commitment letter promising houses for slum dwellers under the ‘Jahan Jhuggi wahan Makaan Scheme’. It may be recalled, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 3,024 newly constructed Economically Weaker Section (EWS) flats last month under the national capital as part of an In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation (ISSR) project and handed over their keys to slum dwellers at Bhoomiheen camp.

These flats were built by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) under its in-situ slum rehabilitation project.

Let’s take a glance at some of the other salient features of the m,anifesto or ‘Vachan Patra’:

  1. Proper disposal of garbage in the capital. Garbage disposal has been one of the key issues in the national capital ahead of the civic body polls.
  2. Checking corruption in government departments.
  3. Improvement of civic amenities.

The ‘Wachan Patra’ has a form which they will fill and the BJP workers will submit them to the departments concerned and the slum dwellers will get houses.

The rival AAP will also launch its manifesto soon.

There will be 13,665 polling stations across the 250 wards, while the total number of voters in the city stands at 1.46 crore, according to the electoral rolls with the qualifying date of January 1, 2022. The results will be declared on December 8, 2022.

Poll results will expose tall claims of political parties

Finally, it’s election time in India. Two assembly polls back to back. Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. Also, elections for the Delhi Municipal Corporation is scheduled on December 1, 2022. Himachal Pradesh will go to polls on November 12, 2022 and Gujarat will go to polls on December 1, and 5, 2022 respectively.

Campaigning has come to an in Himachal Pradesh which is going to polls on Saturday (November 12). Entire day, political parties – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and rival Congress which is in power in the state.

Barely, 48 hours left for the people to cast their mandate in Himachal Pradesh and things will be clear on December 8, 2022.

Similarly, In Gujarat, there are chances of a showdown for the BJP which has been in the ruling chair for 25 years. The rival Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had been saying that people are eagerly waiting for a change and claiming that they would vote for the AAP.

Talking of the Delhi civic polls, it would be quite interesting to watch the outcome. If people vote for the AAP then it would be a shame for the BJP that had been holding rallies and press conferences exposing Kejriwal and his government over the liquor politics. If people in Delhi elect the BJP then this will be an eye opener for the Kejriwal who played a dirty politics by allowing liquor mafias to enter Delhi and even allegedly tampered the Master Plan of the Delhi. Liquor mafias were allowed to open their shops within 100 meters radius of having religious, educational institutions.

Recenly, during a rally Kejriwal had announced that Muniocipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls will be fought on the pile of garbages and took the conviction to remove all the mess within five-years.

Things will be clear on December 8, 2022 when the results of the MCD Polls will be announced.

MCD Polls: Allegations-counter allegations regular feature between BJP and AAP, says polls to be fought on garbage issue

Ornamental makeovers, putting icing on the sugar across the city by civic bodies is nothing new when elections are knocking at door. The same city that faces step children attitude due to apathy of municipal bodies in the states suddenly become spic and span as the civic polls are announced. This is exactly the situation in Delhi which is about to go to municipal elections. The dates are not yet announced but as per the speculations, the dates will be announced within a few days. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have fastened their seat-belts and engaging in daily brick-bating. The city politics has turned murkier with both BJP and AAP indulging into allegations and counter allegations.

The problem is city dwellers who have no say in these political cat-fights are the worst sufferers as who ever come to civic bodies totally turn a deaf ear and blind eye to the plight of the people. Water filling in the city or garbage is a perennial problem.

On Thursday today, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with deputy Chief Minister manish Sisodia visited the Ghazipur landfill site and said the upcoming MCD polls will be fought on garbage issue. He assured the Delhi-ites that if AAP comes to power then Delhi will be clean city in five years. Immediately, BJP MP and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir said, he did not see AAP doing a bit to clean the city in past seven years.

Last week Union Home Minister Amit Shah while inaugurating the Tehkhand waste to energy plant at Tughlakabad said,  Kejeriwal government showed a “step-motherly treatment” to erstwhile three Delhi civic bodies, and claimed that the AAP government owed them ₹40,000 crore. Shah took a pick at the AAP and said, “We want to make Delhi ‘atmanirbhar’ and Kejriwal wants Delhi to be ‘AAP nirbhar”.

The Union home ministry recently accepted the and notified the final delimitation commission report that was constituted by the Centre following the merger of the three civic bodies into a unified MCD through two notifications issued on October 17, paving the way for holding municipal elections in Delhi. The polls were abruptly cancelled in March when the Centre announced that the three civic bodies in the city will be merged. A unified MCD came into being in May.
