Political corridors in Delhi is brewing with immense agression as the opposition parties had been demanding a reply from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Parliament over what they call is giving a walkover to the Adani inspite of enough evidence of money laundering.
On Thursday, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) Chief Anil Chaudhary, staged a protest march outside Lieutenant Governor’s (LG) residence demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). Speaking to the Press, DPCC Chief said, “Why the government is finding it so difficult to constitute a JPC, we are not saying or accusing BJP but asking a probe into the allegations of the Adani”. “Does that mean Adani and BJP are same?”, added Chaudhary.
Anil Chaudhary made series of tweets demanding JPC.
Parliament has been witnessing a logjam for fourth consecutive day and over the demand of a JPC. However, some of the parties especially like the Trinamool and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who are shouting for JPC has already lost it’s face in West Bengal and Delhi respectively, after the Encouragement Directorate (ED) had unearthed crores of unaccounted assets from their top leaders including ministers. None other than Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is facing charges of money laundering and helping the liquor mafias to open shops and thekas in Delhi.
Few days ago, Nephew and Trinamool General Secretary said his party will follow the “zero tolerance” policy and will not spare anybody who does wrong. Nephew quoted the example of Partha Chatterjee. However, cutting big story short, it’s clear after the recent incident where a party goon had slapped a man who dared to complain in front of state good and civil supplies minister in North 24 Parganas.
The snippet news says it all:
This incident will create real problems for Trinamool as it shows not just intolerance but also Trinamool has no respect for people and the catch phrase “Maa Mati Manush” was to woo voters ahead of 2011 elections. Slap incident will create enough ruckus in coming days posing questions that the party is trying to eade.
The viral video showing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister Satyandra Jain getting massage from a man inside his cell in Tihar Jail has put the party in serious trouble. Not only the man and the minister have violated the Jail rules but the man giving Jain massage is an alleged rapist serving punishment under POCSO Act. This means the AAP which jumped into the rescue of Jain immediately after the video surfaced stating it as a ‘anti propaganda’ by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and claimed that the minister was advised to take massage from doctor and the man giving him massage was a physiotherapist. This raised immense uproar as BJP held a press conference and proved that the man in the video giving Jain massage was not a “physiotherapist” but a ‘rapist’.
The AAP is in Catch 22 situation over the controversial viral video showing Satyendra Jain getting massage from a POCSO accused.
Earlier, manish Sisodia, deputy chief minister of Delhi and close confidant of AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal in the press conference said come what may, the party will not expel Jain. When asked about the allegations hurled at him, Sisodia said they don’t buy the allegations and one must not expect AAP would take action on whatever is being said… These were the defiant words of Sisodia.
However, the AAP members have ducked ever since the news of “physiotherapist’ being a rapist has come into glare. Kejriwal, too is silent and has been evading the topic by making rhetoric on morals and ethics. Pity! The party that came to power in Delhi on making tall convictions from stopping corruption to punishing the corrupt and drawing a sorry face is talking of ethics and morals.
BJP said that more press conferences will follow in the coming days that would expose the lies of AAP and also what are the obligations of Kejriwal to provide VIP treatment to Satyendra Jain.

In an early morning message to voters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged them to enthusiastically participate in the “festival of democracy” and register a voting record. In a tweet, Modi also greeted young voters who will be exercising their franchise for the first time.
Trends are with the BJP as people say they have seen development in the region. However, the real picture will be crystal clear on December 8 when results will be declared.
United Kingdom’s Prime Minister elect Rishi Sunak met King Charles at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday and addressed the nation for the first time as PM Rishi Sunak. Buckingham Palace tweeted:
King Charles as per the ceremony appointed Rishi Sunak as the country’s next prime minister and he will be asked to form an administration. At around 11:35 am local time (4:05 pm IST).
PM Sunak addressed the nation immediately after meeting King Charles. He said his priority would be to bring the country together and said he was “humbled and honoured” to get the greatest privilege of his life to give back to the country I owe so much. “The UK is a great country, but there is no doubt we face a profound economic challenge”, added PM Sunak.
PM Sunak tweeted:
The news of Rishi Sunak being elected as Prime Minister of Britain came as a big news for India. The world leaders are taking to twitter to congratulate PM Sunak. The Indian diaspora in Britain are elated to have PM Sunak as their next Prime Minister.
The irony of fate! The British race that once called Indians as ‘natives’ or ‘blacks’ and dominated Indians like they did to other colonies, would now be ruled by Indian-origin Rishi Sunak. Indeed, a big day in history of not only Britain but for India too.
On Tuesday, when India was celebrating Deepawali, the festival of lights, Sunak created history. He becomes the first Indian origin Prime Minister of Britain. He is the first person of Indian origin who has reached the post of Prime Minister of Britain. Not only this, Rishi Sunak is the first Hindu PM of Christian majority UK. Sunak is also Britain’s first non-white prime minister.
In fact, Penny Mordent has withdrawn her name from the race for British PM, clearing the way for Sunak. Several prominent Conservative party lawmakers had supported Sunak, leaving Johnson’s camp. These include former Home Minister Priti Patel, cabinet ministers James Cleverly and Nadeem Jahavi. Priti Patel herself is a former British minister of Indian origin who resigned from her post last month after Liz Truss was elected prime minister. He said the Conservative Party should give Sunak a chance to lead.
Rishi Sunak said, ‘It is the greatest privilege of my life that I have got the opportunity to serve the party I love and serve the country. I thank Liz Truss for the service she has rendered to the nation. He served with dignity amidst many changes. I am honored to have the support of my parliamentary colleagues and to be elected as leader of the Conservative and Unionist parties”.
The entire world has been congratulating Sunak on becoming Prime Minister. He will be addressing the Press later in the day according the Britain Standard Time (BST). Former Prime Minister Lizz Truss has also congratulated Sunak. Truss will also convene a meeting later in the day.
It seems Trinamool Supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has forgotten the days when she (then opposition leader) would come on the roads, hold rallies, call long-bandhs screaming President’s Rule in the state during the Left Front regime. She even cried about the then police atrocities and accused Police Minister and state Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya of instigating his police against her and her party members. Banerjee did not hesitate to hold the city hostage as regular bandh calls would paralyze normal life from business to education and even had its impact on running of trains, flights as people often would miss their trains, flights due to massive traffic chaos in the city and districts.
On Tuesday today, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had called for ‘Nabanna Abhijan’ (march towards Nabanna) against the alleged corruption charges hurled at numerous Trinamool leaders. Mamata Banerjee’s police carried out brutal attacks on the BJP workers who claimed to have taken out a “peaceful protest march”. The protesters were stopped at various points in the city and brutally beaten up. Trinamool goons did not spare the women workers also. Stones were pelted at BJP protesters, there were instances of arson that spread terror among the city dwellers who tried to return to their homes apprehending more disturbances as the day passes by. At many places protesters trains were stopped. Several BJP leaders, including Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, Locket Chatterjee, Taapshi Mondol and Dibankar Gharami were detained. Senior BJP leader and former journalist Swapan Dasgupta was injured among others.
However, as expected, the police said, they did not obstruct the protesters at any point. There were few road blocks that would be lifted shortly. The police agreed to have closed the Second Howrah Bridge (Hoogly Bridge) and Howrah Bridge for some time and that too would be lifted once the traffic is cleared. There were no reply on how would the people going towards stations commute.
There were no reaction from the Supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who is also the Police Minister. Trinamool spokespersons on different television channels are trying to project the brutality as instigation. However, all this is drifting the party away from the masses that once had the catchlines like “Bodla Noi Bodol Chai” (not revenge but change) and “Maa, Mati, Manush”. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, said, “Its total lawlessness in the state and its clear from their frustration that Trinamool is loosing grounds. BJP will come in power, nobody can stop”. Incidentally, Adhikari had defeated the Supremo in the 2022 Assembly Polls in the state from Nandigram.
From Sharaddha to Narada and most recently, Trinamool leaders including heavy-weight Partha Chatterjee, Anubrata Mandol have been nabbed by the ED and CBI over money laundering cases. Chatterjee, was exposed how he had wasted tax-payer’s money to buy expensive gifts for his ‘numerous’ girlfriends.
In such a situation, its quite natural for the party to come on the defensive and fight with anybody who raise the question of honesty that Banerjee boasts off. Its very difficult for the party to eschew fact that people are drifting apart from Mamata Banerjee, and her Trinamool.
After ruining Bengal much before they came to power in the state in 2011. Trinamool had ruined the process of development in the state with kicking out the Nano car project on the ploy of ‘green revolution’ in Singur. The Tata’s that would have transformed the region into another Jamshedpore were compelled to relocate in Gujarat after then Chief Minister Narendra Modi offered a place to the Nano project. Trinamool Supremo and then opposition leader Mamata Banerjee projected then CPI(M) and Tata hijacking the green lands from farmers.
Today, close confidant of Banerjee and city Mayor, Firhad Hakim (Bobby) accused the Centre of carrying out raids to stall development in the state. Hakim tried to project the Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre the main culprit behind Bengal failing to get investors. “shomosto jaigai raid, raid, raid, kore ekta atonko srishti korchey jaate Bengal e kono investment na hoi” (They are carrying out raid, raid, raid, all over so that no investors come forward to invest in Bengal), said Hakim.
This is a myth and blatant lie as industrialists, investors had marked West Bengal as non-industry friendly state and had drifted apart from investing.
Trinamool may be having problems in eschewing the alleged money laundering by leaders like Partha Chatterjee and Anubrata Mandol. The party tries to act evasive on how Chatterjee had wasted tax-payers money on his girlfriends, chief being Arpita Mukherjee.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who will be embarking on an official visit to India from September 5th to 8th recalled the friendly ties her country shares with India. Remembering the black days in 1971, when then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi stood beside Bangladesh, “India is a “tested” friend and had stood by Bangladesh in its hour of need, first in 1971 and then at later times also.”
The Bangladesh Prime Minister said, “Bangladesh will never forget India’s contribution during our 1971 war.”. Recalling 1975 when her father and iconic leader of Bangladesh, Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rehman, and her family members were killed, “Besides 1971, even 1975, when we lost all my family members. The then Prime Minister, gave us shelter in India. Both the countries are neighbours, close neighbours and I always give importance and priority to friendship with our neighbouring countries”.
The Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina said her government strongly supports secularism and any attempts to disturb communal harmony are immediately dealt with.
“Keshta (Anubrata Mondal) ke Keno dhorechen, ki koreche o…? ” (Why have you arrested Anubrata Mandol, what have he done?” These were the words of Trinamool Supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee a few days ago. Banerjee who calls Mandol “Keshta” (Krishna) fails to understand what has he done. She seems to be not knowing anything about how Mandol had allegedly smuggled cattles and minted money. Trinamool high command is so naive that it pretends not to be aware of the loads of unaccounted money, numerous properties those being unearthed during Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
On Wednesday today, investing agencies unearthed money, and properties not only from Anubrata and her daughter Sukanya but from aids, relatives of Mandol.
The list of unaccounted money, properties are enough to explain why Trinamool is unhappy. In case of Partha Chatterjee, it’s quite natural for party to abbondon as Chatterjee once close confidant of Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee has hinted to some bigwig within the party by saying “truth will come into open, nobody will be excused…” Still, it’s under speculation, whom did Chatterjee refered by “nobody”…
